Lace has been a constant theme throughout his career….starting with the iconic Margot red dress which made front covers and red carpets everywhere, spawning a zillion high street copies on the way…. to pretty nearly every collection since.
Lace may look like just another fabric, but don’t be fooled… it takes a master designer to entice the best from the intricate pattern and weave of any weight of lace, particularly the delicate, cobweb-like Chantilly laces….but Erdem has proved himself to be one of the greats in this field. However, up to now, the choice of which Erdem designs make it into the stores has been the decision of the fashion buyers, but that is all about to change because, after a two-year search, Erdem has opened his own store in the heart of London’s Mayfair.
