Emotions were high during Erdem’s Autumn-Winter 2016-2017 fashion show when a very, very long, infinitely romantic, poetic dress appeared in red lace

The super-covering yet airy dress with ruffles, long sleeves and a high collar was sewn from meters and meters of an extraordinary Sophie Hallette lace dyed in a red we’d love to call “Erdem Red” and then was re-embroidered with giant flowers.

Many other prodigious creations of ERDEM spotlighted lace in a show inspired by the American portraitist John Singer Sargent, known for his paintings of high society in the late 19th century. Lots of rich, muffled tones, floral prints and spectacular silhouettes … and above all, lots of grace !
